Great Place To Work® and Fortune have selected MCI for the 2024 Fortune Best Workplaces in Construction™ List. This is MCI’s first time being named to this prestigious list, this year coming in at 28th place in the small & medium category. Earning a spot means that MCI is one of the best companies to work for in the country.

The Best Workplaces in Construction award is based on analysis of survey responses from over 43,000 employees at Great Place To Work Certified™ companies in the construction industry.

“MCI’s recognition as one of Fortune's Best Workplaces in Construction reflects the values that have guided us from the very beginning. Our founder, Ralph Burt Sr., instilled principles of servant leadership, shaped by his military service and deep personal beliefs, which laid the foundation for how we care for one another. That legacy has been carried forward by all the leaders who followed him, ensuring that our commitment to putting people first remains at the core of everything we do.

It’s no surprise to me that MCI earned this distinction because I see, every day, how much we care about each other’s success. Our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is a testament to that—an investment not just in our future, but in the passion and purpose we bring to our work. This recognition isn’t just about the company; it’s about the incredible people who make MCI what it is.” – Lacey Burt Knapp, HR

The Best Workplaces in Construction list is highly competitive. Great Place To Work, the global authority on workplace culture, determines its lists using its proprietary For All™ Methodology to evaluate and certify thousands of organizations in America’s largest ongoing annual workforce study, based on over 1.3 million survey responses and data from companies representing more than 8.2 million employees this year alone.

Survey responses reflect a comprehensive picture of the workplace experience. Honorees were selected based on their ability to offer positive outcomes for employees regardless of job role, race, gender, sexual orientation, work status, or other demographic identifier.

“Congratulations to the Best Workplaces in Construction,” says Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work. “These companies not only outperform the average for their industry but have created workplaces that outshine the average in every category, proving the importance of building trust with workers, no matter the industry.”
