Piedmont Town Center is a mixed-use development in the heart of South Park which is geared toward a pedestrian friendly street system. MCI was asked to provide design/build services for two 8 story buildings offering 415,000 square feet of office space and approximately 87,500 square feet of street level retail and restaurants. MCI’s team of specialized superintendents and project managers has experience in every area of HVAC installation. Concurrent construction of these twin office buildings was beneficial by being able to investigate the interactions between work methods and finding the best degrees of overlap to reduce cost, minimize risks, and increase efficiency.
- Natural gas was designed for use in the building for the Gas Utility Tenant and the 2nd building was an “all electric” application providing both energy modeling data and real world energy comparisons
- For the retail areas, consideration for kitchen exhaust and supply systems were predetermined and installed in the shell to allow connectability for a large range of restaurants.
